Thank you for this interview. In 1978 I was 17 years old and and Brian's music changed the way I perceived the world until this day. The biggest influence in my life! It is so meaningful to me personally, to listen one of my cultural icons speaking out about this deeply horrific moment in history. Thank you for speaking up. Many, many regular people are being silenced in the US by depraving them of their livelihoods, or the threat of losing it. What is very disturbing to me, is that the pseudo left, made up of Stalinists and radical leftists have learnt precisely nothing. They have spent decades now marshalling the disgust, dissent and outrage of the masses as they come into struggle, be it on climate change , austerity , environmental destruction and now genocide, back into the very institutions of class rule where their dissent is then roundly neutered. In fact one can go as far as to say, that once these forces gain any leverage , they head it off back behind the intrinsic and primary interests of the capitalist class . Labour under Corbyn , SYRIZA under Varoufakis et al, and the German Green Party. Once they have acquired any prominence they then apply the brakes , and in the case of the German Green Party , they became the principle party of war and NOT the environment. This middle class layer does not speak for the intrinsic needs of the masses, they speak first and foremost for their own class position. They seek to ameliorate their signature causes with the capitalist system from which they benefit . With such 5th column collaboratists ... who needs enemies?? They need to get out the way! Accept they have achieved nothing in perpetuity, and make way for the working class to put an end to the central question which is capitalism and the competing nation state system on which it is based.
